I think I have mentioned before that I HATE modern Volkswagens. Well, after watching 1A Auto’s video on replacing the wheel bearings in the Jetta, I figured, for a change, this one was going to be an easy one. A knuckle-buster for sure, but relatively easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I assembled all of the tools that the video stated I would need and sat down in the damp 40\u00b0 driveway and was IMMEDIATELY stymied. What was supposed to be a 27mm 6pt bolt, was instead a 26mm 12pt bolt. My socket set is pretty comprehensive. I have hundreds of well organized sockets (though I am missing a 1\/2″ drive 10mm socket because, of course I am) but, I don’t have any large 12pt sockets. So now (after searching auto parts stores and big box hardware stores via the internet) I am waiting until Wednesday for the socket I need to arrive.
