Since, during the winter, there is not a lot of stuff open up there, I had to find a place to camp, but first, beer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"2000\" src=\"http:\/\/theshanty.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240302_163001_result.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-443\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I scouted out a dispersed camping area near Lake Michigamme, pulled off and set-up. I listened to them for a while before going back to sleep. They were far away and I was pretty high up. If I were in a tent on the ground I would have been considerably more worried. It got down to 34\u00b0 overnight, which was no problem for my sleeping bag and electric blanket. I previously tested the electric blanket with my Bluetti lithium battery box\/invertor. It runs the blanket on low for 6.5 hours. Though the electric blanket shuts off after 3 hours, so if it got cold in the middle of the night, I knew I just needed to push the button again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1381\" height=\"1182\" src=\"http:\/\/theshanty.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/20240307_135952_result.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-449\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the morning, I was able to break camp in about 30 minutes and get on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stopped along the northern shore of the UP at one of the dozens of scenic pull-offs and took some pictures. I stopped at my favorite little place, the St. Ignace Truck Stop Restaurant.
